Female Bengal: TOO LOUD!!!

Question
Please help me Amanda because I think I am going to strangle my cat.  I have 2 indoor cats, a boy and a girl.  Both were fixed as kittens and I've had them since they were kittens.  Trudy is all Bengal.  Leo is a Bengal/Toyger.  First let me say that I've read numerous times that Bengals are easily trained.  I've not found that to be true with these 2 rascals.  I have a particularly difficult time keeping them off the kitchen counters.  Even those plastic mats with points don't deter them.  The biggest problem though has been Trudy's incessant and very LOUD crying/meowing.  These ear piercing shrieks go on day and night.  She's not sick.  She's been doing this since she was a kitten.  I get the feeling that she is restless and sometimes it even seems like she is yelling at me.  I play with her, Leo plays with her but nothing seems to help.  She never gets hoarse which seems unbelievable.  My boyfriend who is a cat lover doesn't want to be around her because of this and this problem has kept my boyfriend and I from living together.  She also cries and claws at the door to go outside a lot too.  Both these cats are so lovable and so loving and playful with each other that I wouldn't dream of separating them.  This is going to sound truly awful but is there some sort of vocal cord procedure that Trudy can have to quiet her?  I'm in the healthcare field and to me a quick snip-snip would be more humane than my constant attempts to quiet her with blasts of air, squirts of water or even daily medication.  Ignoring her doesn't work either.  I think she likes the sound of her own voice.  I love her to pieces but I can't take this anymore.  Sorry so long-winded.  So, is there a procedure that could help?  Or anything else you can suggest?  Thanks so much, Teresa.

Answer
A few years ago "de-barking" dogs was very popular, but I'm not sure if they could do a similar procedure with cats.  Also, I think you would be very hard pressed to find a vet willing to do it anyway.  Some breeds are more vocal than others, Bengals being one of the more talkative breeds in my experience.  If you have taken her to the vet and ruled out an physical problems then I'm not sure there is going to be much you can do about it.  I don't think scolding her for talking is going to work.  You said she claws at the door to get out, so maybe giving her time outside would help.  If you don't want to let her out on her own (which isn't a good idea anyway in my opinion) then they make harnesses and leashes for cats as well as carriers that resemble strollers for taking them on walks.  Maybe some extra stimulation would help.  In regards to training, I'm afraid that I can't help much in that area.  I have 8 cats and they're all little demons.
