sibling behavior before cats death

Hello-This Monday I took my 16 yo female cat to vet for eye drainage-much to my surprise she was severely dehydrated-down to 3.4 lbs from 4.5 and the doc said she had intestinal tumors-she recommended putting her to sleep. That night she went to heaven.  Her sibling started meowing every night for about 1.5 weeks before she was diagnosed-a new behavior for him. Could he have been sensing that she was dying? I am sorry for your loss.

Yes, the sib could have sensed his sister's illness. Her behavior had changed due to her illness, and he understood that!  He will probably grieve for a couple of weeks and, being a practical animal, he should move on.
