Question
Hi,

I know you said you weren't a vet and couldn't answer any vet questions. But Im not sure if this is or isn't a vet question? My kitten is about 6 months old and today I noticed she has little tiny sore-type red spots on the front of her top lips. They aren't blisters or scabs which is all I've been able to locate info about on the net. I was hoping you might have experience with this since you've been dealing with cats for a while. If I could just have a better idea of what Im looking for I might be able to find something out on the internet. Thanks for you help =)

Answer
Dyan,

The sores on this kitty's mouth could be any number of things for any number of reasons so it is wise to take this kitty to the vet for diagnosis. This may be viral, bacterial, or some sort of injury. If your kitty seems to have blackhead type lesions it may just be a case of chin acne which can be fixed by replacing her dishes with stainless steel or glass. The only way to know for sure is to take her and see what the vet has to say. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me again.
