Question
Hi Teresa, this is Pink's sister, Jean. Thank you so much for everything. We have taken you advice to soak the swollen paw in hot water with salt. Yet to see if the swelling will reduce. Its right leg is now swollen as well. I took it to the vet today, he says that the infection could be due to its urine. Should we be concerned? However, the good thing is, they are still nursing well and they both purred for the first time today! That's a good sign, right?Fingers crossed, I hope all's well!

Answer
Hi Jean, well if you have two paws swollen now then this is not too good. I would be concerned.. but quite honestly there may not be too much you can do about the situation. did the vet have any ideas for you?? In kittens sometimes it is so hard to treat them, as they are so fragile. Nursing well and purring are good signs.. really good signs ! Maybe these will be miracle babies. One day at a time...If there is no wound then don't bother with soaking the foot any more. It sounds like something else is going on there. If the vet can't offer you any suggestions then I would just keep making sure the kittens are nursing well and see what mother nature can do to help out ! Perhaps with more nursing and more fluid going through the kitten this will flush out ??? I am only guessing... but I have seen amazing things happen when things are left to mom nature :) I wish I could give you better advice but I really don't know how to treat this condition... sorry...
Teresa
