Question
This is not a behavior that I have ever had even severely abused or
traumatised cats try out on me, I think that you need to take Oko to the
vet as soon as you can to make sure that there is not a medical problem
that she is trying to alert you to (either hers or yours). If you and
Oko seem fine then I would strongly suggest that you get a behaviorist
in to help diffuse the situation. This is a serious issue and the sooner
you get treatment for it the easier it will be to solve and the sooner
it will ultimately stop. I am sorry that I couldn't do more to help.

This is the response you sent to me when I told you of my cat Oko's sudden aggressive behavior.  I would like to let you know that I do have a medical issue that is progressively getting worse.  I am due to have surgery soon for this.  Do you think that could be a possibility as to why she is doing this to me??  Do you think she is sensing that I am sick and she can tell when she sniffs me and it scares her?

Answer
Amy,

Cats are incredibly sensitive little beings, your medical condition could very well be influencing her behavior. She likely knew that you were sick before you did and maybe she has been trying to communicate this unsuccessfully for some time and resorted to extreme behavior to get her point across. I hope that all goes well with your medical issue and that Oko gets her human back none the worse for wear. Take good care of yourself and Oko, and hopefully Oko will settle once you are healthy again. Please feel free to keep me posted on how things progress as I would be interested in hearing about how things progress.
