cat trouble

Question
my momma cat gave birth to 5 little angels. But they ended up tangled in the umbiblical cords, which I took to the vet. one of the kittens had them all wrapped around the leg, which is now shrivling up. Where the cord was wrapped  is now a much larger cut, with possibly the bone showing. The vets we talked to told me to either put the kitten down, or just let it keep shrinking and fall off. But should I use peroxide on the wound..or something. I am completely lost with this situation. Should I do the humane thing and put him to sleep. he is in no pain, eating fine..biggest of the kittens. he moves very well

Answer
Hughie,

If the kitten is thriving, I would do nothing except maybe watch the wound.  Putting peroxide on it is a fine idea.  Also, starting on antibiotics with the vet's supervision is also a good idea.

Cats do very well on three legs!

Please keep me posted.

Best regards... Norm.
