Hiccups?

Question
Hi Norman,
I have a female cat, about 3-4 years old, who was rescued.  She was feral but will accept human contact now. I got her a year ago and she has had no illnesses though she does have a pronounced limp in one of her hind legs (this does stop her from running and jumping normally).  Recently I moved, and though she seemed depressed for a while, she has now acclimated enough to walk around fearlessly, and she has started playing again.

Recently, I have noticed her breath hitching just a little.   She doesn't stay put long enough for me to see if it lasts a long time or if this is just a once-in-a-while thing.

It does not seem to cause her any pain or distress.  She eats and drinks normally, plays with her daughter (whom we also adopted) and runs and jumps.  Her ears are habitually warm, and her nose habitually dry, so no help there.  Since everything else seems fine I am reluctant to put her through a doctor's visit, as the stress would be very hard on her, and she is terrified of most humans.  If this were your kitty, what would you do?

Answer
Bonnie,

I am not a vet, but, were it my cat, I would take her to a vet to see what may be going on.  It may be nothing, but, on the other hand, it could be something as serious as a heart problem.

Yes, I think she needs to see a vet.

Best regards... Norm.
