Question
MY SIAMESE SEALPOINT IS 16 MONTHS OLD AND VERY THIN EVERYONE TELLS ME HE IS TOO SKINNY. HE IS A GOOD EATER. HOW MUCH SHOULD HE WEIGH?

Answer
Sharron,

I hate to say this, but he should weigh what he should weigh.  Does your vet think he is too skinny?  If so, you should have him tested for intestinal parasites.

As a breed, Siamese should be rather lithe and slim (their nickname in the pedigreed cat world is "slinkies"). If his ribs and backbone do not show and he seems otherwise healthy, why worry about his weight?????

Like people, cats have different body styles and sizes, so his weight should fit his body style and length.  As I said before, Siamese are slinky by nature and would look improper were they to get fat.

Best regards... Norm.
