Answer
Hi

Kittens should be kept with their mother until at least week eight. During this time they will feed on their mothers milk only. Then the mother cat or a surrogate mother i.e a owner will start to wean them onto solid food. However this can take several slow weeks of serving them both solid kitten food and kitten milk.

Your kitten cannot survive on water alone.

My advice would be to take the little mite to see a vet as ap in case their are some other reasons why they are not feeding. Also if they have not been eating for several weeks it is likely that they could be mal- nourished and may need some extra help from the vet.

I have some pages on my web site about weaning kittens which you may find helpful here
