Min Pin neurologic paralysis

Question
My min pin (9 years old) has developed what my vet says is a neurologic condition which will eventually paralyze my dog.  It affects her right side and is getting worse very fast.  She is falling down and cannot jump up on chairs anymore.  She wobbles when she walks and falls very easily.  The vet said it would cost me thousands of dollars to have her evaluated to see if there was anything that could be done to help her.  I would like very much to see if anything can be done but I cannot pay thousands of dollars.  Have you heard of this type of paralysis or is this truly something that is hard to diagnose?

Answer
Neurological conditions are often hard to diagnose.  I think that what you want is to know PROGNOSIS:  what will happen over the next 6 months to a year.  For this type of information, you should have the dog evaluated by a veterinary neurologist.  Depending where you live, there may be one close by.
