Question
I currently have a salt and pepper miniature schnauzer that is 3 years old.  She is constantly lick, scratching biting her self and requires a bath nearly once a week.  She appears healthy but will lick on her paws for hours on end.  She is typically miserable at night; itching biting her butt, and wanting to be petted constantly. glands and since she seemed fine the minute I brought her home, I'm inclined to think that was more her problem this time. Her skin is becoming very scaly and she has course bumbs. Please help with your opinion. Thank you, Roderick Griner

Answer
She has an allergy to something.  Take her to the vet and tell them what you wrote me.  You have described allergic dermatitis perfectly.  She may need a shot of some cortisone and some pills to allow her to stop itching.  Frequent bathing will help remove the allergens from her skin and haircoat.
