6 month old pit puppy losing teeth

Question
I accidentally knocked a tooth out of my 6 month old puppy's mouth playing with him, it's one of the tall teeth on the bottom, will this tooth grow back?

Answer
If, by the tall front tooth, you mean the canine tooth then it is likely a permanent tooth that fell out. Another one will not grow back. The adult canines have usually erupted by 6 months in most breeds so it was most likely a permanent tooth. Just like if you knocked out one of your adult teeth, you are out of luck. However, if by some chance your pup had delayed dentition and it was a baby tooth that fell out then the adult tooth should still grow in. Baby teeth are much smaller than adult teeth and generally have shallower roots. When in doubt, have your vet check the puppies mouth to be sure!
