Min Pin Ears

Question
Hi, I have a female min-pin who will be 1 years old on December 16th. A few weeks ago I took her to the vet because she was scratching her ears and crying, he said she had a mild ear infection and prescribed Synotic & Baytril solution drops for her ears. She has finished the medication but for the past couple of days her ears which had been standing up have started drooping over. They don't stand up on their own at all anymore. She has not had them cropped, they started to stand up on their own at about 3 months. My question is why is this happening, is it the ear infection or the drops? Will they go back up? Thanks so much.

Answer
Pain can make these dogs droop their ears.  When she was onthe steroid eardrop, the pain subsided and she put them up.  When the steroid wore off they went back down.  That means that the infection is probably not gone.  Ask your vet to do a cytology to make sure that her isn't a yeast infection present that you are not treating.
