My cats toilet manners changed

Question
Hello. My 2-year old male outdoor cat sprained his hind legs a week ago. He can now walk just like before but is afraid of jumping. Why is this? Also, he starts to pee and deficate on our clothes. When our cat was still uninjured, he comes in the house just to take a nap but goes out everytime he wants to pee or poo. What explains this behavior change? Thanks. Sorry for my english.

Answer
Well you pretty much answered your question. You say your cat "sprained his hind legs" but you don't say how this could happen. Is he neutered? If not, then it's normal for him to spray on things.

He is soiling your clothes to tell you he is in pain. He needs to see a vet. There is something wrong and it could be more than just a sprain. Cat's don't routinely sprain anything.
They get bit by other cats, and more likely, he was hit by a car. If so, his pelvis might be fractured just enough that it makes him unwilling to use a litter box so it's easier to use your clothes.

So he really needs to see a vet to see what is wrong with him, inside and/or outside.
