Question
I have a rot/chow mix 11year old dog years ago she had an ear infection and I took he to the vet. and the gave me otomax and an ear wash.  the vet is no longer around and I can't afford to take her to the vet's because I just lost my job and can't afford it.  Can you give me any help in how I can treat her to make her feel a little better until I can get her to the vets.

Answer
You can use a 50:50 mixture of vinegar and water as an ear flush.  That will help disinfect the ear as well as help dissolve some of the wax.

Ear infection come back because that are actually caused by allergies in most cases. Without treating for the allergy, the skin of the ear will become inflammed again.
