Question
I have a 2 yr old lab/boxer mix and she is full of energy. Today I came home and she can barely walk. She is very lathargic. I took her outside and almost had to carry her down the stairs. I checked to see if she ate something bad and can't find anything strange. What can the problem be?

Answer
Hi Mike!  You definitely need to get her to a veterinarian ASAP, as this is a definite sign of a toxicity.
Many things are toxic to dogs...caffeine, chocolate, plants, onions, nuts (macadamia, almonds, ect.)Tylenol, Advil, Asprin, Excedrine (any human medications) and over the counter flea medications can be toxic like Hartz, BioSpot,Zodiac, Advantage, Advantix, ect....anything EXCEPT Frontline.
Your veterinarian will have to take a blood sample to determine the best course of action.  IV Fluids are a must, as this will flush toxins out of her blood stream.
Getting her to a veterinarian promptly is very important.
Please let me know how she does!
