Life Span

Question
My Mother has a half & half pomeranian and shihtzu. She is now twelve and a half. What is the normal lifespan of these dogs? Also, I took her to the Vet recently for an eye exam, and was told she has a cateract, and needs the eye removed. Is this the only remedy? Otherwise she is in good health. Thank You

The average life span of a smaller dog is estimated to be 15-20 years. It depends on several factors. Diet, health problems, things like that. Well, I hope I helped. Have a great day Roger.
