dogs eating their own feces

Question
I have 3 dogs and two of them are eating their own feces.  Why do they do this and can it be stopped?  They get regular veterinary check-ups and are very healthy.  

Answer
When dogs do this they are usually not properly digesting their food.  That leaves the feces with good foodstuff for the dog to eat.  Sometimes this is from overfeeding the dogs.  Sometimes it is from poor digestion.  If these are not the cause, ask your vet for a product called FORBID that gives the feces a horrible taste.
