Question
I am preparing to move from MD to FL & have 2 cats to move.  One is 7 yrs old & hates cars and one is 15 yrs old & has always been outside & is wild - I just feed her but do not want to leaver her behind.

I'm trying to find out the most comfortable way to move them - I know they both will be "very" upset at the prospect.

Can you give me any help?  Thank you.

Answer
Place them in separate carriers and cover the carriers with a sheet...if they do not get car sick you can put a small plate of chicken or tuna in with them for a special treat.

I would give them RESCUE REMEDY--several drops as needed every 15 minutes as well as spray FELIWAY in their cages.

You can also give them catnip, which after the initial excitement phase, should help calm them down.

A natural sedative would be Valerian Root or you can contact your vet for a prescription sedative.
