Dog with upset stomach after surgert

Question
Our dog had a hematoma removed from his right paw about two weeks ago.  At the time of removal it was about the size of a baseball.  A week after surgery he started vomitting, so we took him back to the vet and they ran checks on blood cells and dehydration and said that he was fine.  So the sent a home with Pepcid for his upset stomach.  No it has been two weeks since his surgery and he is still vomitting once or twice a day.  We changed his dog food from Dog Chow to Iams lamb and rice.  I was wondering if there is something else we should be doing to help him.

Answer
Any dog that has been vomiting for that long should have full blood work, abdominal xrays and possibly an abdominal ultrasound. I would also check a lipase level to see if he has Pancreatitis. There are certain types of anesthesia(specifically Propofol) that can cause Pancreatitis. Other possibilities for the vomiting include a foreign body obstruction. If your veterinarian is not pursuing an answer to your satisfaction then you should seek a second opinion.
