Question
my 1 year old beagle started drooling horribly today. he has eaten and is drinking. Feels a little hot... He is happy and normal just soaking wet and licking his paw and chest bone. he chews up everything and anything. will it pass? could he be teething? help?

Answer
Excessive drooling and/or licking can be a sign of a medical problem in the mouth, or stomach.
Many dogs get things caught in their teeth and mouths if they chew a lot of things, and it is always possible he ate something toxic.

This is something that a vet really should see and soon. Dogs stop teething by 6 months of age and unless there is a problem with a tooth or even with the dog's eye socket, drooling isn't a symptom of teething.

Please call the vet and get him in soon.
