Question
Hello,
My 3 year old Bengal Qigong ate a broadhead skink on Wednesday, July 2 and on the 3rd he suddenly became paralyzed in his back legs. Other than the paralysis, he was fine.
He is recovering slowly and eating well and going to the bathroom fine. Is there anything we can do for him to get the toxins out of his body?
I took him to the vet and they charged me $421 and have not told me a thing yet.

Answer
Hi Kim - I thought they were not toxic.  Here is what I found:
Don't know much about this at all.
Did your vet say they are  toxic???
Sorry, I just can be more help to you.

Brad-headed Skinks:
Note: these skinks are often falsely called "scorpions" and believed to be poisonous.
This is a myth; Broad-headed Skinks are not venomous, and although they can bite and deliver a painful pinch, they are not dangerous to humans.

Good Luck

Marie
