bladder stones

Question
I have an elderly (about 6 yr old guinea pig) that has a bladder stone partially lodged in her urethea. She is able to urinate. The vet recommended surgery. I really don't want to do surgery, I've never had a successful guinea pig surgery, she's elderly, I don't want to do that to her honestly and it is expensive.

Any medications your familiar with to break the stone down so she passes it?
Any natural herbal remedies that would help her to pass it either?

Answer
I am sorry I am not an expert on guinea pigs and have no idea what you could give one for stones. I know about dissolving them in cats and dogs but not GPs. You should repost this into an area for pocket pets or ask your local Pet Store. I am sure if there was a remedy the vet would have told you about it.
I understand your trepidation with surgery but that is probably the only way it will be removed.
Sorry I wasn't more help.
