HELLO..MY 2 YEAR OLD PERSIAN MALE CAT HAD TROUBLE URINATING SO WE TOOK HIM TO THE VET.. SHE CATHERAZIED HIM AND GAVE HIM ANTIBIOTICS..HE WENT HOME AND STILL WASENT RIGHT SO WE TOOK HIM BACK..SHE DID BLOOD WORK AND XRAYS..THE WHITE BLOOD COUNT WAS 500...HE HAS NEVER BEEN OUT OF THE HOUSE OR EXPOSED TO OTHER INFECTIOUS CATS...SHE IS SENDING HIS BLOOD TO CORNELL TO TEST FOR DISTEMPER..HE NEVER GOT A DISTEMPER SHOT BECAUSE I ASSUMED SINCE HE IS INDOORS BOR AND BRED HER HE DIDENT NEED IT..I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INSIGHT

Unfortunately, all cats should have at least a base set of shots when they are born. Similar to childhood immunizations;  they need these shots to boost the immune system against viruses that they may become exposed to.  

Did your vet discuss the symptoms of distemper with you?  If he does not have the symptoms, there is a likelihood that he does not have distemper. Low white counts can mean exposure to any virus, not just distemper.

It is difficult to determine what is doing on with your cat because I have not done a physical exam.  Fortunately, even distemper can be treated if caught in time.
