dog question

My dog eddie has a large red looking ball on his right back paw he has been licking it for a couple of days. when I touch it, it does not hurt him.

Sorry it took me so long to answer this but I had an emergency crop up.
It sounds like he has a lick granuloma which is started by some unknown reason, (could be nerve or bone pain, nerves, etc) and then the dog creates massive trauma by licking and licking it making it worse and worse.
These things do not pop up over night. They start small and grow and grow. They will bleed terribly too. You need to have the vet evaluate it as it could also be a tumor instead. Do not just let it sit there- make an appointment soon!
