Dog bit by insect

My medium sized dog was bit near the left eye by an insect (at least that's my guess).  Could have been a centipede as we have many around here.  His eye is swollen shut. . he is acting a little crazy running around and hiding in corners.  Do I need to worry or will this pass.  It's ll:20 at night so I can't take him to the vet now.  Anything I can do to help his pain?

You need to take the dog to the vet today to get looked at.  As far as I know centipedes are not poisonous, but do get him looked at and treated for an allergic reaction.
