Aussie shepard Tooth damaged

Question
Hello,

Last night I was playing catch with my dog.  She jumped up to catch her  toy and  then stopped and began licking her teeth intensely. I looked in her mouth and saw that one of her front teeth was bent back a bit, there wasnt much blood at all but you could tell it was definitely loosened. This morning she had stopped licking and her tooth appears straightened.  Should I take her to the vet? is there anything they can do for that or does it just heal on it's own?

Thank you for taking the time to Help!

Answer
Hi Tim,
Well that was a badly caught toy wasn't it? The problem with lose teeth is that if they don't re-seat themselves properly or the roots were torn they will die. When that happens you have an ugly gray tooth that is still doing its job but looks terrible.

You might want to run her in if it is still a little wiggle loose to your touch or just leave it be and see what happens. My advice is to always have the vet look it over first.

I work part-time in the video production dept of our community college also. What a cool job you have!!
