Dogs Heart is racing at night

Question
Good morning, we have a 3 year old golden who recently had an episode in the evening before bed where her heart was racing and she was panting shallow. About three months ago she had a similar experience, we took her to the vet (that evening) and they put her on IV to get her heart rate down and inormed us their belief that she may have gotten into some amphetamine (perhaps while walking in the open space around our wyoming home).  We also had her tested for allergies, since we notice her sctachinf and bitting her paws a lot and her thyroid came back low - so she is on meds to regulate that.  Agian, we are concerned since we had another episod last night.  We made an appointment with another vet and what should we be asking.  We are thinking it might be allergy related but are not sure.  If anyone has had similar experience we would love to know.  I thank you for your time and attention to our question.

Answer
Hello Tiffany - Yes, it could be a reaction to a allergen.
Yes, get another opinion from a second vet.  Ask them to do blood work and x-ray of lungs and heart.  Make sure she doesn't have fluids around her heart.

If all is normal, please contact me for supplements and proper diet instructions...OK
