Question
My dog had poisoning from Sergeant's flea & tick squeeze on Tuesday.  I did everything right; bathed him in dawn, gave him benadryl, took him to the emergency vet.  He seems to be getting better but my only issue now is that he keeps having what looks like muscle spasms on his back where the poison was.  He keeps trying to bite at it and if I pet him there, you can see where his body tightens up and he tries to get to it.  I've given him 3 baths; 2 with Dawn and one with his dog shampoo so I can't imagine he has anymore of this stuff on him.  I was wondering if there's anything I can do to help him out or if this is normal and will go away on its own.  Thanks for any help you can offer!

Answer
Kimberly,

Hopefully your pet is better by now.  If not, I recommend seeing your veterinarian ASAP.  I typically keep these dogs on some type of muscle relaxants for these kinds of spasms.  I also like to monitor these pets closely because these types of toxic reactions can have many complications.

Good luck to you both
