What could be wrong with my cat?

Question
I have a 2 year old spayed female. I recently got a nutered male about 3 months ago. My oldest is territorial so I give them 2 seperate litter boxes. Recently my oldest who is litter trained for ever has started to poop and pee on a rug by our front door. I noticed when cleaning it up that there was blood. And she has been sleeping alot more lately and has not been eating or drinking that much. She used to run around after she used the litter box like a crazy kitty, but she doesn't and just goes back to her comfy spot and sleeps. She doesn't normaly sleep beside me, and she has started to. And when I use to pick her up she liked it, but now she growls and will start hissing when I let her down. I don;t know if that means that maybe she is hurting or is bipolar :))

Answer
Anytime a cat stops using the litter box they are trying to tell you that something is wrong. Cats do not become bipolar ha ha.
She is having some digestive issues. Have you changed the food recently? Or even the cat litter?

Usually bloody stool is an indication of some colon irritation and that happens commonly when the food is changed out rather quickly. Bad quality food can also cause this problem.

So without any more information than what you  gave me I would have to say to look at what she is eating, if was changed recently and what kind of food is she eating.

If this started right after he got back it could be the stress of these changes. Getting a new cat will also bring about this kind of stress. Two stresses in a row could be why she started sleeping with you also.

A good examination wouldn't be out of place here Crystal, especially since she is growling when you lift her up.  Please let me know how she does.
