Bringing a new puppy home

My in-laws are buying my husband a puppy for his birthday as a surprise. They are picking the puppy up and brining her to their home where they plan on giving her to my husband. They have 3 other dogs and 3 cats in the house. I am concerned that taking her to their house with all those animals will be very stressfull for her. Would it be better if she was brought to our home where she will be living, immediately?? Or does spending a couple hours in another home not make a difference?

Puppies are usually fine with other animals and LOVE to play but I would keep her crated. The other animals may have the problem.  ALso, until you have her vet-checked and a stool sample analyzed you really don't want her mingling with the other animals.
