Litterbox Problem

Question
Hi, I have three adult cats and the middle one has always had trouble, every once in a while, with using the litter box.  I've had her since she was a month old.  She always urinates in the litter box but sometimes defecates near the litter box.  The litter box is always kept clean.  Its been going on for a long time now.  She gets plenty of attention from me and is well liked by the other two cats.  She has also always been an indoor cat just like the other two.  Everybody is fed well and has plenty of water.  I just don't understand.  Thanks for your help.

Answer
The rule of thumb is ONE MORE litter box than the number of cats, therefore, you should have FOUR LITTER BOXES in the house.  My guess would be that there just aren't enough of boxes.

There may be some underlying anxiety or competition between the three cats for the box.  I would recommend trying FELIWAY DIFFUSERS throughout the house to help ease stress.

You can also purchase CAT ATTRACT to add to the litter box to help draw her back to the box.  www.preciouscat.com
