blood in my dogs urine!!!!!!

hi,  my 13 year old mixed dog male  has started peeing light blood since we've got the snow here in va.  Hes an outdoor dog that stays mainly in his kennel.  he is eating fine and acting fine, however  could it be hes not taking in enough water??                                                     thanks, Paula

Doubtful if it's that, however if the urine is concentrated enough and causes irritation it could. More likely choices are bladder stones, bladder infection, prostate infection/inflammation (if he isn't neutered) bacterial infections, kidney stones, etc.

Any dog that pees blood needs to see the vet as soon as possible.
