cat sleeping habits

Hi Jennifer,
I'm not sure if you will be able to offer any advice  on my problem - my much adored cat sleeps with me at night, and I dont want to change that (her meowing would never let me anyway!

But over the last few months she has started to wake regularly at dawn, about 5am - since I rarely go to bed before midnight this is resulting in a state of constant exhaustion...

I typically get up, feed her and open the front foor in case she needs to go out - after a time she usually comes back to bed anyway - often without even having gone out or eaten the food...

do you have any tips to train her out of this habit?

Hi Nicky,

She has you trained well =^..^=

Basically what I would advise is to IGNORE her until the behavior subsides, and if that means locking her out of the bedroom, do so.  

Before bed you can put some dry food out so that when she wakes up she has food available.
