CAT INJURY

Question
My cat has been limping on his front left leg since yesterday when he was involved in a fight with another cat.  He has been sleeping a lot and I have not let him go outside since.  There is no obvious injury to his leg just the limp when he attempts to walk - he can just about walk down the stairs and onto my bed.  He is also eating as normal.  Please advise how I can tell whether the injury is serious or not and whether I should take him to the vets.  Thanks.

Answer
He is probably cooking an abscess in his leg.He is going to need some antibiotics for this and he should be tested for leukemia if he never has been and then vaccinated. This is one of the major ways cats get leukemia.

So call your vet and make him an appointment.  He cannot heal this one his own as they come back over and over without antibiotics being given orally.
