Question
Hi Jana, My 3 year old rottweiler has got an eye infection, almost like conjunctivitis and they keep weeping and getting all crusty like sleep. We've went to the vet and he gave us a tube of cream and we put it on everymorning and still no improvement nearlly 6 months later. Can you tell what this infection is and how can I cure it? Thanks.

Answer
I have no way of telling you what this infection is. This dog should have been taken back to the vets within a few weeks time if the first ointment didn't work. A tube of ointment would never last 6 months if it was used as directed either.

He could have dry eyes, or a congenital problem with his tear ducts. They need to be examined and flushed out to see what the problem is.

You need to get him back to the vets pronto.
