Question
Today my basset hound (he will be two in June) has not been able to use his back legs, but it seems as though there is some swelling in his abdomen, especially near the genitals.  He cannot walk or even drag himself to move.  He has been trembling a little, like he is shivering from a fever, and his nose has been unusually warm.  Something like this has happened before with him, but not as severe as this.  I am worried about him, and I want to take him in to the vet, but I was also thinking he might just get better soon.  Would you recommend going in to see a vet or just waiting to see if he improves?

Thank you.
