Does surgery performed on injured animals not turn out as well as usually expected?

sorry for the delay responding, we have been away on a family vacation. Do you have a specific surgery that you are wondering about? I think with any surgery it can depend on the extent of injuries and we are dealing with biological systems, so outcomes can not always be predicted.
