anal gland infection

Hello, my 3 year old shizu-poodle has an infection in his anal glands. He had one 5 mths ago and again I am dealing with it. the VET here wants to use a scope to go deep into his anal gland so he can treat with the proper anti-biotics.

He has already been on 2 different types of anti-bios. a mild and powerful anti-bio.....he is on Innova dog food. I do give him treats, such as milk bones, some with coloring. he also gets bully sticks as a once a week treat.

my question is....a scope? is there any other way to treat this? i dont want to leave him at the vet all day and put him through this, he is already so traumatized by all the probing around his rear.....he shakes when he sees the vet now.....any suggestions.

Hi Bridgette- Yes, I can help.  I am glad you did see your vet a number of times.  Let's try some Natural Options and see if we can turn this boy Around!  Tell the vet you are making some nutritional changes before you Scope him.  OK???

First off - Please take him off of the Bully sticks and milk bones!!
Never again give this kid a bully stick... Please - bad for his anal sac... Milk bones are just junk...Sorry
