Question
OK im having some difficulty understanding them and what they want. I have them for two days now in my apartment. there about 4 to 6 weeks old not so sure cuz my friend gave them to me. I thought since there pups itll be easy but its crazy in here. its my first time. i feed them pedigree. Ok here come the questions. How do i know what they want when they cry? they cry alot. they fight each other alot, why? how do i know when to feed them? sometimes when there alone on the rug they scratch and act like some invisible person is bothering them. like the try to bite the air or themselves. ive been reading on how to train them. they like to bite alot sometimes they try and bite my feet or hands, why? what can i do? they dont know whats right duh but when i try to teach them it seems like they didnt even hear me. they dont respond to "no" or "ouch" pretty much nothing. They only respond to noises and thats about it. they pee and poop anywhere. what can i do to get a fixed pee and poop place. i need some imediate attention oh yeah they dont play with the toys i got them. like a small red ball, they bite it once or twice and then thats it. and they dont play fetch. is this all normal or what can i do. i dont want them to grow wild or bad. i want them to be family dogs. please HELP! :(

Answer
Hi Carlos! When they cry,it usually means they want more food or to be let outside to go to the bathroom.Since they are young, they are still pups. They are probably wrestling because they want to play,or they are wrestling to pick the strongest dog.the pack leader,of litter. If you are feeding a brand name good quality diet, about 2 cups of food or 2 cans should be OK for your dog. If the dog is very active, a little more would be OK. At 6 months of age, I would divide that daily amount into 2 feedings. After 1 year of age, give him a once daily feeding.
They may be scratching to sharpen there nails down. When they bite the air, they probably want to play with somethin, seeming how they don't play with other toys, try getting them a tug of war toy, there are just some toys they don't like.If they bite fur out of there body, more likely, she is allergic to something in the environment. When skin disease affects the rump and back, I tend to think of a flea allergy first. You should have a vet look at her to see if there is some medical treatment that will give her some relief.
For the biting, you may want to get them muzzles. As for the pee and pooh all over the place, you have to be patient. They are still puppies and need to learn. You may want to litter train them.If this doesn't work, look for  adds in the newspaper for obedience classes.I hope this helps a lot!  Nicole.D.
