Question
We just moved to a house with a nice sized, fenced in back yard.  We would
like to let our pug off of the leash and run in the yard...while we are
out there, but worry about her stomach.  Can pug's stomachs take the junk
they will just happen to pick up and swallow in a yard?  If not, do their
stomachs ever "adjust" to a new envirnment?  THank you

Hi there!  I am sure your baby is loving her new freedom in her new fenced in yard!  Dogs will almost always eat grass, which can cause a bit of diarrhea every now and then, but not major problems, as long as there are no chemicals like fertilizers, ect., in the yard.  Dogs will often times pick up rocks and sticks and swallow them, which is never a good thing, as these objects will most definately get lodged in their intestinal tracks and need surgical intervention to be removed.  Taking a look around the yard and removing "bite sized" rocks and stones, sticks, ect., would definately ensure that your baby would be safer out there.  She will begin to adjust to her new environment and not allowing her to eat the "harmful" things will eventually teach her to stay away from those things.  
Definately be sure that there are no fecal materials from any other animals in your yard, because if they are consumed by your dog, intestinal parasites can be contracted.
Pugs are small dogs and their stomachs will react more strongly than that of a larger dog to foreign bodies, but there are no reasons why your baby can't enjoy her new yard.  Just be sure there is nothing harmful for her out there.
Give her some kisses for me!  I have a little Shih Tzu...I just love those little "smooshy faced kids" as I lovingly refer to them as!
