Question
My 8 yo great pyrenees has started limping, and just recently showed signs of a lump on her left leg, just above the wrist. I understand using wormwood has proven well in killing cancer cells and leaving healthy cells intact.  Is there a treatment protocol for using this herb for canine OSA, and where can I get some?  Thanks so much.

Answer
Hi Michelle
I am sorry to hear that your beautiful girl as OSA.  Yes wormwood is very good for this condition.  An overall review of her diet and lifestyle is also important to consider.

Firstly, the wormwood - you can purchase a brilliant product called Osteosarcoma/ Bone Cancer Support for Canines from herbalist Robert McDowell - www.herbal-treatments.com
Click onto "Herbs for Dogs", then scroll down till you find "Osteosarcoma/ Bone Cancer Support".  You may want to discuss with Robert via email the recommended dosage for your size dog.  You will also most probably have to keep her on these drops for a long time 6 - 12 months.

Secondly - look at her diet.  If she is on commercial dog food then start slowly introducing raw and natural foods instead.  Commercial dog food, no matter how expensive, is really bad for their bodies and their overall health.  There are some really great companies that make raw and natural dog food (such as BARF - www.barfworld.com) and many other smaller companies as well.  You want real, raw meat, fruits and veggies.  You may also want to include some health boosting supplements such as Greenpet's Pet Booster etc... There are many on the internet to choose from.

Thirdly - keep the home environment healthy and calm.  Any stress and tension will not help her condition.  Keep her warm, comfortable and happy.  Exercise her as per your vet's recommendations.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch again if you need to.
Take care,
Silva.
