Question
Hi Marie,

You replied to my question on saturday regarding my ridgeback with heart disease. I am new to this site and didnt know how to reply that is why I'm entering a new 'question'.
His medication list is as follows:
Vetmedin
Lanoxin (stopped for 3 days after drip but should be starting again this evening)
Tenormin
Fortekor
Puresis
Spiractin

He is STILL not eating and we are extremely worried. The vet gave us another tablet to help his appetite, but no signs of wanting to eat yet.

Thanks
Hayley

Answer
Wow, Well, it looks like your vet is giving you some good help on the medications.
What are you feeding him?  I can provide you a few home-cooked easy recipes ......
SEE here:
Bland diets to start with:

Recipe for a Troubled Digestive System

This diet can be used for a few days to help a weak system

2 pieces of white bread
1 can of chicken & rice soup  *****(low salt)
1/4 cup of instant potatoes
1/2 cup of minute rice

Heat up the can of soup, prepare the rice and potatoes with water. Mix all ingredients together & serve at room temperature. Give small portions & only give more if the dog is ravenous. Otherwise, put the mix away & heat for a later meal. Don't overtax the digestive system with a lot of food.
~~~~You can do Yams ( 1 larage cooked) rather than the instant potato)~~~~
YOU can also just try some Boiled white chicken and yams - mush up the yams or cut in small bites..
Low Fat ground hamburger and white rice will be fine, too.
HOPE this helps...
Sounds like you have a good vet working with you......
