taking our dog to England

Question
We are going on vacation for about 3 weeks to the UK and want to bring our Irish setter with us.  Is this possible.  I heard that there used to be a quarantine requirement but that had been lifted.

Hi Alicia,

Thank you for your inquiry.  Unfortunately the rumor you heard was incorrect.  They now allow you to do a home quarantine prior to traveling to the UK however it takes six months to fulfill.  Between the time of preparation and the expense of sending your dog to the UK,  I don't think you would want to go that route if you are only going for three weeks.
