QuestionHi, I have pet a Lab Retriver of 2.5 years old. I have shifted to HOUSTON, TX USA this week and will be staying for a year. I want to bring my dog to US. I have given him the yearly shots for 2008 in june. Also he has been given the Rabies shot. Do I require to give him the rabies shot once again before importation? Please advise on what else would I require to do for his importation.

Thank you for your inquiry. As long as your Lab received his rabies shot within the last year (which it sounds like he has) then he will not need another rabies vaccine as long as you import him prior to June 2009. Also you will need to have a health certificate issued by a veterinarian in India within 10 days of the flight for importation. Other than that, you should have no trouble bringing him to Houston.
