Moving to Germany from Canada with rabbit and chinchillas

Question
Hello,
I will be moving to germany for a few years in the start of the new year. I have been trying to figure out what requirements I need to bring over my pet rabbit and chinchillas.
I have found lots of information on dogs, cats and ferrets into germany, but not as much on rabbits and chinchillas.
Do you have any suggestions of where to look?

Also, I have found conflicting information, some places say my rabbit and chins need to be have a microchip and rabies vaccinations prior. Another website however said that for Germany no microchip, no rabies is required.

As well, I read that my pets will be in quarantine for a minimum of 6 months, is this true? Is there any way to shorten the quarantine time? If there's no way, do I get to visit them? What about food? Will they feed them fresh vegetables?

Any information would be greatly appreciated
Thank You

Answer
Wow... Who told you there would be quarantine?  Crazy
They don't give rabies vacs to these type animals.  They might need
microchips.  Best source of info would be the German embassy or
consulate near you.  I would recommend Lufthansa airlines.  They
should also be able to advise.  Also, visit: www.ipata.com  there are
two members in FRA   They would able to address this as well
Hope this helps
