Dog from USA to Republic of Ireland

Question
Hi Jerry,

I am a British citizen currently living in USA, but relocating to Ireland.  I have a bullmastiff and a pit mix - both are friendly, socialised and trained.

My problem is that although pit mix's are legal in Rep. Ireland, all dogs from the USA must be quarantined.  However, there is only one authorised quarantine kennel and they dont take pit mixes.

Do you have any suggestions?  What about kenneling my dog in another EU country, obtaining a pet passport and entering my dog straight into Ireland?

Please help, I love my dog and won't go without him.

Thanks,

Gerry

Answer
All dogs from USA do NOT need to be quarantined.  They can do their 6 mos here in USA
Or, you can check the quarantine kennels in England as well.
Dogs can do their time in the EU on the continent, but will still have to have the blood tests
and wait 6 mos before entry into UK
