Question
We have all the info we need about travelling with our dogs to Greece but they have never been in a crate. Since the flying time is about 10 hours to Munich and a 2 hour layover and then another 3-4 hours do you have any advice about the crates themselves and how the dogs will fare?(We are getting them used to crates now for our flight in June

Answer
If you have talked to the airline, you already know you need an approved plastic crate.  I think even on such a long flight, the dogs may fair a little better in a crate on the small side. the trip will be difficult for them.  You may want to teach them to relieve themselves on pavement.  Grass may be difficult to get to from the airport terminal.  It may be hard to fine places in Greece too.  I don't have too much to say, except to stay in touch with the airline.  They keep up to date on the requirements for dogs entering the countries they fly too.  They don't want any problems.  Your trip will go much better for planning so far ahead.

Once you get there, it may go much better.  Not sure about Greece, but much of Europe if far friendlier to dogs than America.  You do need to attend to matters like cleaning up after them.
