Question Hello. I have a problem. My cat is an old Maine coon that I want to move from Florida to South Carolina with. The problem I mentioned is that she's not very tolerant driving in a car or in my dogs'old cage. Tippy will keep flipping and going crazy in a cage and meowing like wild in a car. Do you think my cat would not be as scared if we got a small plastic pet taxi? I need to know quick to convince my mom to get one or she'll leave my cat with my cousin. I'm not sure if Tippy can even handle the drive. Thanks in advanced for your help.
AnswerI listed myself under travel to share what I know about dogs. I think a dog would do better in a smaller, more enclosed carrier, and maybe a cat too. Drugs usually are not my first recommendation. You might talk to your vet about sedatives. I have also seen references to Feliway or some such. Sorry I can't help more.
