Question
It has been cycleing for about 3 weeks. I just ordered my first algae control critters kit with snals, shrimp crabs ect.Is there any special way of interducing the aminials to there new home, and what do I feed them I dont have a lot of algae? My tank is a 140 gal with live rock and sand aprox.4" deep I plan on geting a few fish and some coral as soon as I can. Thanks for your help. Bill

Answer
Bill,

As long as your NH3, nitrite, ph is all in acceptable levels you can add your animals.  Turn the lights off in your tank when placing them in.  I would use a drip method for at least 45 minutes to acclimate these guys.

1.Grab a bucket and some flexible tubing. Small air line tubing
2.place tubing in your tank in then into the bucket.  allow three drops every second or two to flow from tank to bucket.
3 After about 45 minutes net animals from bucket and place in tank. Do not place any of the (bucket) water back in your tank.
4. place some mysosis shrimp in the tank.  Feed every other day.

Good luck
Todd
